Jax Zoo Career Awareness Day

Saturday January 28th and Monday February 20th 10am-12pm
Samburu Boardroom (outside the front admission gates)
Free and open to the public

It takes lots of people with many different skills to run a zoo. Everyone knows that the Zoo has animal keepers and veterinarians but there are MANY MORE jobs that you probably didn’t think of.   Are you good at math and want to be an accountant?  We have those!  Are you the creative type considering becoming a graphic designer?  We have those too!  This is a special opportunity for elementary, middle, and high school students to learn about career opportunities within a Zoo.   Students will meet with a variety of Zoo professionals to learn about their careers and receive practical advice on how to prepare for the future.  Zoo staff will recommend college programs, discuss how volunteering, interning, and related work experience can give you an edge over other students and explain what they do in their day-to-day job duties.  The more you know about what positions exist, the easier it will be for you to plan your course of study and land that dream job!

To help us gauge attendance, please RSVP at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QN53Y5D

Questions?  Please contact the Education Department at 904.757.4463 ext.122 or education@jacksonvillezoo.org
