Jacksonville Zoo Seeking Teens for Employment

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is seeking nominations and applications for youth employment opportunities for teens from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to work in our Education Department.

Qualified teens will be selected through competitive interview process to join the sophomore year of our program as a W.I.L.D. Steward (Wildlife Immersion and Leadership Development). This program seeks to offer enriching year-round, paid positions for low-income teens to develop their sense of confidence, responsibility, leadership ability, and public speaking skills. Teens will play, learn, work, and serve with our Education staff to support our vision of inspiring everyone within our reach to take positive action to protect wildlife and wild places. W.I.L.D. Stewards will create and deliver educational presentations using live animals at locations within the community.  Must be from one of the following zip codes:  32202, 32205, 32206, 32208, 32209, 32210, 32211, 32218, 32244, 32254 (due to grant funding requirements).
